By Alex Co
respawn-won-t-have-anything-to-announce-at-e3

In rather disappointing news, Respawn Entertainment has just announced that while their employees will be attending E3, the studio itself won't be making showing any projects or make any announcements at the show.

This news was shared by the studio's Community Manager Abbie Heppe who shared, "Some of us will be present at E3, but we won't be showing anything or doing any press related to the game."

If you've been living under a rock and wondering why this is such a big deal,... More »

Treyarch: Black Ops II Doesn't Need a New Game Engine
By Alex Co
treyarch-black-ops-ii-doesn-t-need-a-new-game-engine

Another year, another Call of Duty game. It's what people and the series' fans expect, but detractors are also quick to point the annualization out as one of the key reasons why the franchise hasn't evolved that much graphically. While tweaks and modifications has been made in the game's engine, at the end of the day, it's still the same game engine that was used to power Call of Duty 2 -- and that was way back in 2005!

This critique, hasn't escaped Treyarch's upcoming... More »

Saint's Row 4 in Development For Current Generation Consoles
By Ron Taylor
saint-s-row-4-in-development-for-current-generation-consoles

The Third Street Saints are already set to continue their hilarious and irreverent gang operations this fall in Enter The Dominatrix, but Volition is of course already hard at work on their next full-blown outing.

A resume, uncovered by Superannuation, lists Saint's Row 4 as being in development for the PS3, 360, and PC.

This isn't too surprising as THQ's Danny Bilson has previously suggested the title was being fast-tracked for release (I imagine Volition is on a two-year turnaround), but... More »

Resume Lists Battlefield: Bad Company 3 and Mirror's Edge 2
By Ron Taylor
resume-lists-battlefield-bad-company-3-and-mirror-s-edge-2

It seems various developer resumes online have noted work on Battlefield: Bad Company 3 and the the oft-rumored, Mirror's Edge 2, GamerZines has discovered.

I really wouldn't get too excited though, honestly.

Micheal Joseph C. mentions work on Bad Company 2 alongside Dead Space 2 and Devil May Cry 5 (which we can assume is the Ninja Theory franchise reboot currently in development). While BC3 is probably a given in that EA wants Battlefield to a be an annual franchise as rival Call of Duty is,... More »

why-the-last-of-us-ellie-doesn-t-resemble-ellen-page-anymore

Naughty Dog has explained why Ellie, one of the lead characters of The Last of Us, has had her uncanny similarities to Ellen Page altered.

The developer recently revealed the first trailer for the PlayStation 3 exclusive since its VGA debut last year, which saw Ellie being noticeably changed. The decision to modify her design was due to implementing a more similar look to Ashley Johnson, the voice actor of Ellie and mo-cap artist. Creative director Neil Druckmann told IGN:

After delving further... More »

By Andrew Kent
amazon-now-listing-wii-u-titles

It was reported recently that a Blockbuster in the U.S. had leaked Wii-U titles to the interwebz, well now Amazon is following suit with something more concrete. The Wii-U itself is shown on Amazon without a price, release date, or even an ESRB rating apparently which comes as no surprise. However, Wii-U titles under the guise of Nintendo Wii titles have popped up on Amazon. The titles are as follows according to Daily Games Sales:

Tekken Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge Dirt There are other titles that Daily Games Sales claim... More »

Activision Sued - Again - Over Call of Duty
By Mat Growcott
activision-sued---again---over-call-of-duty

Delta Force, if you never played the series, is something you'll probably recognise instantly when you see the logo for the game. I have a very, very clear memory of walking in GAME and seeing lines and lines of these on shelves. It came as a surprise to me that the series is still going on, actually, and, with a new game on the horizon, perhaps that's why the developers behind the series are suing Activision.

Novatech claim that Activision are knowingly infringing on copyrighted material and using trademarks... More »

Celebrate the Queen's Reign With... a Limited Edition 360
By Mat Growcott
celebrate-the-queen-s-reign-with-a-limited-edition-360

April Fools seems an awful long way away, but I suppose if you want to pretend this didn't happen, this list-fodder of the future, then now is the time to start making excuses. This is a Jubilee special edition Xbox 360 to help gamers celebrate 60 years of Queen Elizabeth II. Basically what it boils down to is a Union Jack Kinect set, but it's so, so ugly.

For £250 you can join in the celebrations (which I hope start to get a little bit better than this). Available only from Walmart subsidiary ASDA,... More »

Blizzard to Honour GAME Pre-orders, Because GAME Can't.
By Mat Growcott
blizzard-to-honour-game-pre-orders-because-game-can-t

While you might have thought the GAME company's problems were over, GAME Australia (a separate entity to the EU counterpart) start to struggle. They have been unable to stock Blizzard's Diablo 3 and, to make things worse, are unable to offer a refund. People are obviously angry and confused as to where to turn, so Blizzard are going to do a good deed and pick up the slack.

Now, let's be honest here, Blizzard are still going to make a profit off your purchase and, thanks to some clever accounting, will... More »

Konami E3 Site Launches, Characters do Battle
By Mat Growcott
konami-e3-site-launches-characters-do-battle

Konami have launched a new website, counting down to their pre-E3 show. It's that time of the year again, folks, and you can almost touch the excitement. The website doesn't offer much in the way of information, although this far before the show it would be rather disappointing if it did, but it does offer a brief look at the Konami character battle.

In celebration of something awesome coming at E3 (I'm sure), Konami are having a character battle - think what Gamefaqs have been doing for well over a... More »
