Destiny: The Taken King Guide – How to Get Black Spindle

September 23, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

This guide for Destiny: The Taken King has all the steps to getting Black Spindle, an Exotic Sniper Rifle.

There are a number of new Exotic weapons you can acquire for use in Destiny: The Taken King. There are three varieties of Exotic Swords, an Exotic Shotgun, and an Exotic Scout Rifle, just to name a few.

You can acquire these weapons through various means, including quests and random drops. One of the new Exotic weapons discovered today is the Black Spindle, an Exotic Sniper Rifle.

Black Spindle appears to be a Year Two version of the Black Hammer. It comes with 310 Attack as a baseline.

Acquiring the weapon involves completing today's Daily Heroic Story, which takes place in the Ocean of Storms on the Moon. In the mission, players are instructed to return to the Chamber of Night and steal a shard of crystal that once held Crota's soul.

Redditor TackiestTaco uploaded a video showing the weapon.

He explained each of the steps in detail, which I'll paraphrase so it's easy to follow. "We think we figured it out! All of these are steps that we BELIEVE to be true," he wrote.

Five steps to getting Black Spindle

Prerequisite: The "Lost to Light" mission must be done as the Daily Heroic.

1. In order to access the ketch you need to speed run after collecting the soul fragment all the way to the door with the first relic.

2. DO NOT scan the door before picking up the relic. Just pick up the relic and put it on the door.

3. Keep moving through and get to the third area. You do NOT need to place any relics in the third area.

4. Go to where you would go to board the fallen ketch. You CAN die, but you CANNOT wipe.

5. You have 10 minutes to clear the ketch of Taken enemies and kill the Ultra Taken Captain named "Driviks."

Here's the weapon in all its glory.
