Fallout 4 Guide: Where To Find Infinite Copper

November 11, 2015 by Olga Lexell

It’s time-consuming, but it works.

Once you’ve gotten caught up on the basics of scrapping and building settlements in Fallout 4, you’re going to want to know where to find copper. Copper can be scarce in post-apocalyptic Boston but it’s an important resource that you need to build up your settlement.

Firstly, possibly the most obvious suggestion, you should make sure to look for items that have the word “copper” in their listing. They always contain copper.

Scrap

The most effective way to track down copper is to scrap certain items using your work bench: light bulbs, cooking pots, fuses, bone cutters, telephones, vacuum tubes, shadeless table lamps, high-powered magnets, broken lamps, and broken light bulbs are a few you can count on to contain copper.

Stores

Stores in the game sell items that you can scrap into copper (always look thoroughly throughout every location). You can set the game to notify you when a resource you’re looking for is nearby. Go to the Drumlin Diner and buy up all of their copper items. Sit in a chair and wait for 24 hours to pass by twice (48 hours total) – by then, they will have restocked brand new copper items and you can buy them up again. This method isn’t as cost effective but you’re guaranteed to get a large quantity of copper if you do it this way.
