Vita Users Choosing to Download Games By Elizabeth DeLoria
As most of you already know, the Vita has launched in Japan, but how are those lucky enough to have a Vita choosing to get their games?
According SCEJ's CEO Hiroshi Kawano, the “sales of the download versions of titles are exceeding expectations,” which is hardly surprising given the day and age we live in. Andriasang has done some number crunching, and while the Vita sold 325,000 units, it only has an attache rate of 0.92. That’s actually under one game per Vita.
So, by process of... More »
Australia and Europe Aren't Getting 32GB Vita Cards on Launch By Elizabeth DeLoria
If you’re an Australian or European gamer, I’ve got some bad news. Looks like that 32GB Vita card won’t be bundled with the Vita, or available at all.
The holy grail of Vita cards, which have sold out in Japan and have been confirmed for the American console bundles, won’t be available for launch in Australia and Europe. This was confirmed by a Sony representative on the PlayStation blog, saying “at this time we are not planning to launch with the 32GB PS Vita Memory... More »
Lego Lord of the Rings may be in the Works By Mat Growcott
During summer 2012 Lego are releasing a set of Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit sets to tease the release of the first of the new films. Warner Brothers have licenced the property to the Lego Company and, with it, there comes a slight chance that Lego Lord of the Rings the Game will come out to tie in with the films.
And given that this story is all over the gaming internet and the reaction has been positive (despite the game not officially existing), Warner Brothers would wise to pay attention to interest - if... More »
Sony's Latest Firmware Removes Key Feature. People Put Mads On Their Face. By Addison Langford
Oh Sony, you're always just … doing all that stuff you do for some reason. A new PS3 firmware came out recently (when hasn't one come out recently?!) and it has removed some features. It's still unclear whether or not the feature was removed on purpose or not.
Users used to have the option of copying certain games they had bought off of the PSN onto their PSP to play on the go. Many of the PS Minis and PSOne classics are able to be played on both the PS3 as well as the PSP by transfer. You could simply choose copy on... More »
Head of Bossa Studios Says PS Vita Will "Die A Horrible Premature Death" By Addison Langford
People think they know a lot about things. I think I know a lot about video games and music and cats. Sometimes when people think they know a lot about something they make predictions. I predict my cat would make an awful lead singer in an R.E.M. Cover band. Henrique Olifiers, head of Bossa Studios, predicts that the PS Vita is going to be in a world of hurt straight out of the gate.
"We'll keep on the lookout to see what the next gen will bring, but if they want more focus on tech specs rather than usability and... More »

China's Rip-Off Vita - It Runs Android! By Elizabeth DeLoria
China is a wonderful land of often hilarious, low quality rip-offs - It even has its own rip-off themepark. So are we really surprised someone in China has already ripped off the Vita?
No, seriously, they’ve already done it. And it runs Android.
The Yinlips YDPG18 has a gravity sensor, large LCD screen, front and back cameras, 1080p support and a front touch screen. The select and start buttons are where the Vita’s right thumbstick would be placed, and there’s no back... More »

Everyone loves the AR cards in the Nintendo 3DS. Sony's noticed their popularity and has since announced its plans to release an augmented reality suite of its own for the PlayStation Vita.

Publishers Show Support For Blockbuster In Ongoing Battle Against Used Games By Addison Langford
Publishers really really hate used games, like they seriously wish they would go away so hard. When people buy used games instead of new copies the publishers don’t get any money from that customer. Publishers are now backing Blockbuster to try and fight against used games. When a customer rents a video game, publishers actually get money, whereas with trade ins, they don’t get shit.
”"We have ramped up the rental side of our business and we have got an awful lot of support from publishers," stated commercial... More »
