Google Pays Homage To Atari Breakout In The Coolest Way Possible

May 23, 2013 by Matt Hawkins

Images of Breakout used as stuff to break in a game of Breakout? How meta.

Google has always been known for producing neat Easter Eggs to pay homage to things that they hold to high regard, or simply think is cool.

Well, a little something that Joystiq just uncovered might be the neatest and coolest example yet. To celebrate the recent 37th birthday of Atari Breakout (fun-fact: the prototype was created by non other than the founder of Apple himself, Steve Wozniak, who somewhat suckered his friend to create it on his behalf, Steve Wozniak, who also co-founded Apple Computer), you can play that same game, right this very second, thanks to Google Images search.

Simply type in "Atari Breakout" into the search field, again in Google Images, and all the pictures that it finds will turn into pieces of the game! Give a shot.
