Get to Know the Three Confirmed Titanfall Titans

January 6, 2014 by Josiah Renaudin

Before the game launches, let’s take a look at a few of the confirmed Titans coming to Respawn’s first big game.

Sure, you can run around as a normal person and pick off enemies with a standard set of armaments in Titanfall, but that’s not what gets me excited about one of this year’s biggest shooters. Respawn Entertainment’s blockbuster has the world itching to hop online because of the massive, mobile Titans, and while we’re not quite sure how many will be featured in the final product, now’s the perfect time to take a look at the three confirmed mechanized beasts in a bit more detail.

The Atlas seems to be the default Titan, and was the well-rounded option showcased at last year’s E3. It’s likely the first Titan you’ll be able to control, sporting a mostly standard mech design and thick, clunky limbs. The Stryder, on the other hand, is built for speed. This Titan gets in quick and delivers devastating blows, but the sleek design leaves it open to a speedy end against the more heavily armored opposition. If it does happen to get in a sticky situation, though, the pair of mounted rocket boosters on the back of its chassis should lead to a quick escape.

Last is the Ogre, which is the tank of the bunch. Yes, that means you can expect big power, bigger defense, and speed that could make a turtle feel normal for the first time in its life. The massive Titan won’t win any 500 meter dashes, but in most cases, it really won’t have to.

Titanfall will launch on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC March 11.
