Watch Dogs PC, Xbox One Specs Not Finalized

March 24, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Creative Director Jonathan Morin gamely took fan questions, although he did not always have answers for them.

Watch Dogs Creative Director Jonathan Morin remains on hand to address questions, although at this point it does not seem that he can say anything to placate fans. Jon continues to reiterate that the Xbox One and PC versions of the game still do not have finalized specs.

@egor125ten Final PC specs are still not done. So stay tuned.

@Alx_Shepard … We are not fully done with res so not sure where you got your info.

Regarding Xbox One and Playstation 4 comparisons, Jon is willing to confirm that both versions of the game will have the same content, and will be just as dense. The game will be completely identical save the 60 minutes extra content on Playstation consoles, and the resolution.

@Alx_Shepard But to answer the none res part of your question. Same density, same content, identical game (aside of 60min exclusive content)

Jon was also more willing to make clarifications on online cross play. Unfortunately, and perhaps not surprisingly, you will not be able to play against people who have different platforms. What is possible is one player entering Watch Dogs on their smartphone, and then everyone else joining in on their platform of choice. So, one smartphone user can go up against a group of PS4 players, PC players, etc., but still not Xbox 360 versus PS3 or anything to that effect.

Another fan has brought up concerns with censorship, particularly in Australia, and interestingly, Jon does not have a ready answer. Of course, this will all be dependent on the rating Australia’s board will give, so we likely won’t find out about that, or for other countries, until closer to release. Hopefully, Ubisoft managed to steer away anything remotely Nazi related or violent that was unnecessary to the game.

So, not much answers still, but it’s good to know Ubisoft is taking on all questions. If you have a request or question for Jon, you can follow him @Design_Cave. Watch Dogs has been confirmed to release May 27 on Windows, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, and Xbox One, with a future date to be announced for the Wii U.
