Sunset Overdrive Will Have Huge Single Player, More Details Next Week

May 2, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Among other things, we hope they reveal the game’s release date.

Insomniac Games has dropped hints that we will be hearing more about Sunset Overdrive very soon.

In fact, this is coming from community manager Brandon Winfrey. Basically, he’s saying information about the game is dropping next week.

Subsequently, the main Twitter account for Sunset Overdrive revealed that the game will have a large single player campaign and story, so this assuages fears that it will just be another multiplayer shooter.

Actually, from what we know about the game now it will be anything but another shooter, with its emphasis on agile combat. More than shooting, the game will feature wall running, zip lines, and acrobatics. It also has a distinctly unrealistic cartoony style, with bright colors littering this otherwise nihilistic mutant infested landscape. Insomniac seems to have promised some integration for user feedback, allowing for memes to be seamlessly added in with characters, weapons, and items.

We’re hoping Insomniac sees it fit to share the actual release date. A little more certainty would be good for the Xbox One.
