Watch Dogs: 16 Confirmed Facts That You Didn’t Know

May 13, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

As the game comes ever closer, more information – including Xbox 360 download info – is revealed.

We have a boatload of information for you about Watch Dogs, culled from Animation Director Colin J Graham and Creative Director Jonathan Morin’s answers on Twitter. We cover various details about the game, so without further ado, here we go:

1.       The game will have 65 vehicles, including cars, boats, and motorcycles. However, there will be no vehicle customization or tuning options.  What there will be is 20 character customization clothing options.

2.       When you profile someone, not only will you be able to take their money. You can also download songs, listen in on conversations, and more. You can accrue that money you get from profiling people before getting it from the ATM. Of course, you can just target the one percenters in the city for easy pickings.

3.       Unlocking cars on the Car-On-Demand app can be done one of three ways:

4.       You drove the car before

5.       You hacked a civilian who owns the car

6.       You purchased the cars from the app itself

7.       Aiden becomes stronger via skill trees, and he also has an item crafting system at his disposal. Examples of craftable items include frag grenades, focus booth, IEDs.

8.       This crafting system stands as a limitation for the hack to make the city blackout. We don’t know what said resource is, but we assume it’s something that takes time to earn, or is a bit rare. On the upside, blackouts have no cooldown time.

9.       Aiden needs to hack specific CTOS towers to hack into the area the tower is in.

10.   You can pawn the items you get in the game for cars, ammo, etc.

11.   The game has an internal social network, similar to Facebook and Twitter, to simulate the experience of being social with Aiden's storyline friends.

12.   This may have been mentioned before, but there is no cross platform play. You can only use the smartphone app to connect to the console / PC versions and vice versa.

13.   There will be no multiplayer for the mini-games, which is a shame because some of them would work really well for that.

14.   You will not have weather control, but if you sleep at a hideout you can control the time of day.

15.   There are only two features exclusive to 'next-gen', AKA Playstation 4, Xbox One, and presumably PC. These are free roam online and data decryption, which will be particularly fun to use in multiplayer.

16.   Finally, here’s what Xbox 360 owners want to know: the game requires a 7.5 GB install. You can install the 1st DVD for this purpose, use an 8GB USB key 15 mbps, or a HDD.

Watch Dogs comes for Windows, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 on May 27, and Wii U fall of this year.
