The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Documents Leaked, Indicate Development Progress

June 23, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

You’ll want to steer clear of spoilers that will ruin the game for you. Having said that, it would seem that CD Projekt RED is now refining a near-finished work.

CD Projekt RED has admitted to a leak of production materials ofThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Spoilers abound, but also a sneak peek at the game's progress.

The leak came about when one of their employees got his Google Docs account hacked. CD Projekt RED has advised fans to stay away from these leaks, as they reveal the game’s ending, and other vital information that will ruin their enjoyment of the story. They also assure fans that this will not impede the timetable for the game’s development.

We won’t reveal the leaked information here either, but we will tell you what to actually look out for.

Aside from the ending, there is a batch of art assets revealing the game’s bestiary. This includes even the monsters that didn’t make it to the game. There are also PDFs of said production art, as well as lists on animations.

Not everything about each mission was outed, but the leaks include detailed descriptions of said missions.

We will share interesting tidbits about the game’s development. Apparently, there was a feature complete alpha ready for the game as early as this February. This build was fully functioning, and fully featured, with the entire main story, as well as quests for all characters incorporated in. Some content was to still be added, but the game was essentially ready to play, with no progression blockers, on all three platforms.

However, the game still was not 100 % done at this point. Still to be implemented were debugging, as well as adding in the final music and dialogue mixes. Lastly, the documents imply Smartglass and Kinect were to be implemented in the Xbox One version.  No word if Playstation peripheral support, for the Eye Camera, Move controllers, or Vita, were also to be added in.

Apparently, CD Projekt RED delayed the game to ensure optimization on its target platforms, so hardcore fans should just streer clear of the spoilers and take to heart that they are going to get a great game.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming February 24, 2015, to Windows, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
