Dead Island PC System Requirements Revealed

July 11, 2011 by Josh Wanamaker

Dead Island, that oh-so crazy Zombie survivalist game, is coming to PC with reasonable system requirements that may surprise you.

Dead Island is built on developer Techland's own proprietary (and very pretty) technology called Chrome Engine 5, which has some impressively requirements considering the beauty/horror of the game. Basically, if your system is, say, up to four years old, you shouldn't have a problem running it. Those would be the minimal requirements, of course, but the recommended requirements are only a small step up from what the game can run on at the most basic settings.

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows XP
  • Processor: Core2Duo 2.66 GHz
  • Memory: 1 GB RAM
  • Graphics: ATI 2600XT 512MB VRAM (GeForce 8600GT)
  • DirectX®: DirectX 9.0C
  • Hard Drive: 2.0 GB available hard drive space
  • Other: keyboard, mouse

Recommended:

  • OS: Windows 7
  • Processor: Core2Duo 2.66 GHz
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: GeForce 9600 (1GB)
  • DirectX®: DirectX 9.0C
  • Hard Drive: 2.0 GB available hard drive space
  • Other: keyboard, mouse
