Bayonetta: Bloody Fate, the anime film based on PlatinumGames' critically acclaimed Bayonetta series, was screened to San Diego Comic-Con attendees this past Friday. The rest of us will have to wait until October 21 when the Blu-ray and DVD release in the US, right around the time when Bayonetta 2 is projected to launch on Wii U.
Bloody Fate is a retelling of the original game with some slight variance. It's animated by Gonzo, the studio that produced Afro Samurai, and will be distributed Stateside by Funimation. Despite Funimation's involvement in the localization, the game's voice actors have reprised their roles for the film — but I'm guessing Christopher Sabat will have squeezed himself in somewhere as a background character regardless!
Enjoy the explosive action in the new trailer above and prepare yourself for the October release.
