Killer Instinct Getting a Retail Release in September

July 31, 2014 by Stephen Daly

The Combo Breaker Pack includes a code to unlock Season 2’s TJ Combo.

Microsoft has announced that Killer Instinct is headed to retail in an update on the Xbox Wire.

Calling the Xbox One launch title "a huge success", the game has been "extremely popular" and Microsoft notes that it was one of the main games at the recent EVO 2014 fighting game tournament.

As a result, Microsoft Studios and Iron Galaxy will be releasing a retail version of the game, Killer Instinct: Combo Breaker Pack on September 23rd for $19.99.

Iron Galaxy took the Killer Insinct reigns earlier this year when Amazon purchased developer Doubli Helix.

Included are all eight fighters from Season 1: Jago, Sabrewulf, Glacius, Thunder, Sadira, Orchid, Spinal, and Fulgore. Those who pick up the game will also get a code for Season 2 character TJ Combo.

Killer Instinct Season 2 is launches on Xbox One later this year.
