Shocking news for anyone who had hoped that Nintendo would never join the retailer-exclusive pre-order parade, but Hyrule Warriors' costume packs are indeed being given out at various stores. Last week, we learned that GameStop pre-orders would yield the Ocarina of Time costumes for Link and Zelda, while Amazon pre-orders would give up the Twilight Princess set (by the way, I originally provided the Amazon Canada link for the Hyrule Warriors page, but the American page has since been updated to reflect to DLC offer). The Skyward Sword pack is now confirmed to arrive at Best Buy.
No word yet on how these costumes will be obtained outside of the pre-order window, but they probably will be available down the line for real money. I'm personally crossing my fingers for an American version of the special edition that contains all the costumes plus the scarf, treasure box, and Triforce clock physical goodies. Also, don't forget that you will be able to download a special Ganondorf costume set if you register the game on Club Nintendo before October 23.
Hyrule Warriors strikes the earth on Wii U on September 26.
