GTA 5: Rumored Pilot Flight School DLC Detailed

August 15, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Is this something you would even be looking forward to? Get the possible details below.

We have some details on what is rumored to be new pilot and flight school DLC for Grand Theft Auto Online.

The DLC will be called the San Andreas Flight School Update, part of Patch 1.16. It will come with flight suits, 10 solo missions, reserve parachutes and parachute bags, and 4 new vehicles.

It’s not clear exactly what these flight suits are, whether they are for parachuting, base jumping, skydiving, or what have you. I actually think there is nothing special about this, just a suit that you can use around the game even if you’re not doing flight related things. Some people do want to be known as mavericks.

The 10 solo missions seem to want to make a PilotWings master out of you. Among the mission objectives are combat maneuvering, low flying challenges, flying formation, and more. Who knows, when this is all done, you and your online mates might even be able to form a flight squadron?

There seems to be a variety of parachute bags available, implying a variety of designs, possibly available for purchase. The reserve parachutes may simply be part of a new game mechanic to encourage fans to use parachutes more, since they have a second try in the air if they screw up once.

Finally, the announced vehicles come with a question mark, which implies that there may be more along the way, or, in my way of thinking, variations in these vehicles, like how some later batches of the same plane model have improvements and fixes from the previous. These include a trainer, a luxury helicopter, a sixteen seater jet, and one street vehicle.

Rockstar themselves have said they do not yet have a release date for Patch 1.16, so who knows when we will even confirm if this is true.

What do you guys think about this possible flight DLC? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
