The Smash train is going off the rails! Not content with bringing in new fighters like Shulk from Xenoblade Chronicles, Nintendo has also announced that the new Super Smash Bros. will be getting the soundtrack treatment! This is significant because, despite amassing some of the greatest composers in the industry to arrange some of the best music in Nintendo's history, the last time Smash got any sort of physical soundtrack was around the time Melee was released.
This new "Premium Sound Selection" looks to pluck a handful of notable tracks from the Wii U and 3DS sequels and pack them onto two CDs. Sounds good so far? What if I told you that it'll be available for free if you purchase both versions of the game? By registering both Smashes on Club Nintendo, you'll be mailed a copy for your listening pleasure. This offer is available not just in North America but in Europe and Japan as well.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS arrives October 3. The Wii U build will hang back until winter.
