Dragon Age 3: Inquisition Two-Handed Abilities Detailed

September 9, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

The two-handed abilities in DA:I have been detailed.

Two-handed abilities have long been a part of the Dragon Age franchise. Along with sword-and-board and dual-wielding, the two-handed fighting style originated in Dragon Age: Origins with abilities like Mighty Blow and Whirlwind as staple abilities for player characters specializing in the fighter class.

Two-handed abilities are making their way back into the series (not that they ever left it) with the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition, where players will be able to hone their characters in the melee fighting specialization.

Today, the game’s developer BioWare released an image (seen below) of a portion of the game’s two-handed abilities, which include Earthshaking Strike, Mighty Blow, and Whirlwind.

Here’s them described in text, in case you can’t see the image:

Earthshaking Strike

Your Great Blow tears open the ground with a shockwave that batters enemies caught in its path.

Mighty Blow

You deliver a powerful attack that crumples foes, leaving them knocked down for a short time.

Whirlwind

You spin with your weapon outstretched, cutting through any enemies in your path.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is set for release on the PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on October 7, 2014.
