This War of Mine Dev 11 Bit Studios Partners With Charity War Child

October 9, 2014 by Stephen Daly

War Child works to protect kids from war and its consequences.

11 bit studios, the developer of upcoming 2.5D survival game This War of Mine, has announced a partnership with international charity War Child – an organisation which works to safeguard children from the impact of war.

Rather than focusing on a soldier or hero, This War of Mine is played from the perspective of civilians caught up in the conflict. Players are forced to survive and find shelter in a land ravaged by conflict and 11 bit studios says their partnership with War Child will help raise funds and awareness of the terrible consequences faced by children in warzones.

In a press release, 11 bit studios CEO Grzegorz Miechowski comments, “This War of Mine is not just a game. It allows people to act their part in a war drama based on day-to-day reality of civilians suffering during armed conflicts, including children. We want to draw attention to the uncomfortable, but important topics that are too often absent from the public discourse.

"Thanks to the cooperation with War Child, we will be able to reach even more people giving them something to think about, and raise money for the good cause."

This War of Mine does not currently have a release date but is in development for PC and will have a retail price of $19.99. You can check out our recent preview of the game here.
