Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Excalibastard Guide

October 15, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

Here’s how to get the legendary gun Excalibastard in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

Like Borderlands 2 and its predecessor, Borderlands, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is filled with tons of easter eggs and hidden goodies for players to puzzle out and earn themselves some mighty fine rewards in the process.

One of these easter eggs is a reference to the Arthurian legend of Excalibur, and it comes in the form of a legendary weapon called Excalibastard—a gun that’s lodged in a stone. There’s not going to be any Lady of the Lake to help you acquire this weapon, so instead you’ll need to get your badass rank up to an absurdly high level before you can pull it out.

Where it is: To get to Excalibastard, head on over to Triton Flats and then go northeast to Stanton’s Liver. Simply continue down the path until you reach a bridge. Head left of the bridge and jump along the ledges until you see the legendary weapon.

How to get it: You'll need a badass rank of 2500 to pick it up. It can only be picked up once per character and scales to the level that character is at the time.

What it does: If you shatter a frozen enemy by hitting it with this weapon, it will spawn a cryo nova blast upon the shattered enemy, causing other nearby enemies to also freeze.Take a look at the map below for directions. Just head to the yellow arrow.

Be sure to also check out our guide on how to skip the intro movies and splash screen.
