Just Cause 3 was announced at the beginning of the week. The game will be available at a yet to be determined time in 2015 and will feature not feature microtransactions.
Now that we've had time to process the news of Just Cause 3 and its upcoming release, Avalanche Studios has decided to tell us more about the title.
According to Game Informer, Rico Rogriguez – the game's protagonist – will fight to destroy an evil leadership in his home country. This will take place on the fictional Mediterranean island of Medici. Though, if we know Just Cause, there may not be much left of his home country when Rogriguez is done with it.
Just Cause 3 will take place years after the franchise's second iteration. He will have access to a couple of new gadgets, namely a wingsuit that allows him to freefall at really high speeds and a grappling tool that lets him hook on to nearly any object. The objects he's able to hook on to can include passing aircraft and enemies.
One of the more amazing elements of Just Cause 3 is that it will feature a 400 square mile map. While we're sure this won't be as big in reality as it is in our heads, we're still very interested to see what Avalanche Studios comes up with. A huge open world to ride grappled airplanes around in would be quite hilarious.
There are also some screenshots that have been made available which show the beautiful scenery and explosions available to players in Just Cause 3. Could this game shape up to be Game of the Year material?
