Like Ocarina of Time 3D, the upcoming Majora's Mask 3D will be graphically beefed up compared to its N64 original. But a few new textures here and there are not the only changes players can look forward to.
In an interview with Famitsu as relayed by Nintendo Everything, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma explained how steps have been taken to streamline this remake. According to him:
[P]arts that were conventions and weren’t explained at all are changed, and challenges which you realize by repeating many times are made easier to understand.
This is to help players who may not have played Ocarina of Time previously and thus don't understand the finer details of this style of Zelda. Specific tweaks and additions include a reworked boss battle, gyro controls, improved touch commands thanks to lessons learned from A Link Between Worlds, and even a second fishing spot.
Though the game will run on classic 3DS models, playing it on the New 3DS might do… something. We won't know what until closer to launch, as Aonuma said:
Please wait for the opportunity to discuss how playing on the New 3DS differs at a later date.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D will hit 3DS in Spring 2015.
