In much the same way that Smash director Masahiro Sakurai had been sharing updates regarding the latest Smash on a daily basis, the developers for the upcoming ink-based shooter Splatoon have similarly been discussing game details on Twitter. The problem is that these updates are all in Japanese. Not to worry, as several gracious members on NeoGAF have been translating those tweets for all to enjoy.
The tweets touch upon both details that we were previously aware of as well as new ones. You'll be able to customize your characters from head to toe, from their weapons to their shirts and glasses. But in the game's single-player campaign, called "Hero Mode," you'll wear a special outfit called the "Hero Suit," which is supposed to resemble the look of a firefly squid.
In Hero Mode, you'll do battle against the Octopus Army Corps, which has stolen an electric catfish named "Denchinamazu," who apparently serves as this world's power supply. Your guide during the campaign is an old man / squid, currently unnamed, who has noticed the Octopi's plans and relates them to the player.
Check out more details at the link above, and then hold out for Splatoon on Wii U in the second quarter of 2015.
