The Crew is Full of Wasted Potential, According to Fans

December 29, 2014 by Jacob Saylor

There’s a lot of resentment surrounding The Crew.

The Crew is a racing game, and because of that, it's gotten a lot of attention. There have been so few eighth-generation titles that feature racing as their main orientation, so many gamers have been hyping the game to no end. As it turns out, many gamers are unhappy with the game in its current state.

Users have been logding a number of complaints against the game, none of which can be easily fixed. Given that many of these issues start at the game's core, it'd take a complete re-release to fix them. With The Crew already failing to meet industry standards, we're doubtful something like that's going to happen.

Here's a quick rundown of user complaints:

  • Wasted race potential.
  • Multiplayer is only peer-to-peer.
  • Most fun aspect of the game is aimlessly driving around.
  • Online is DRM-heavy.
  • Your car's upgrades mean nothing in single player.
  • Unintelligent cop A.I.
  • Overpowered racer A.I.

You can check out what people are saying about the game here.
