Bravely Second Now Bravely Second: End Layer, DLC And Cover Art Revealed

February 9, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

The new DLC has some special conditions on how you can acquire it.

Bravely Second’s full name has been revealed: Bravely Second: End Layer. In addition, we have the cover art of the game, and some information on some new DLC, with special acquiring conditions.

The DLC is a set of new downloadable costumes for characters Yu, Edea, Magnolia, and Tiz. To acquire them, you have to play the DLC, and upload your demo clear save to Square Enix Members before May ends. Technically, the DLC is free, but you will have to earn it nonetheless.

Spoilers follow below.

The subtitle for the game is sure to have a hidden meaning. The original game, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, had such a meaning, and it is a genuine plot twist. Airy, the helpful fairy who directs your party where to find the crystals, turns out to be an antagonist, with a disdain for humanity and an agenda surrounding the crystals and Ouroborous of her own. Of course, if you take the f away from the subtitle, it means lying Airy.

The cover artwork also has some mystery surrounding it, not the least of which since it appears to show Tiz Arrior, and he does not necessarily look friendly. For those who did not find this ending in the game, it was revealed that this Tiz, supposedly the sole survivor of a huge calamity, has a celestial being in him, who helped him survive where other Tiz’s failed.

The hidden meaning of End Layer is not apparent as well, but given the original game’s release history, it might actually take some more expansions before the game gets released in the West, at which point, it may have another subtitle for Western fans to figure out.

Bravely Second: End Layer will be released for Nintendo 3DS in Japan on April 23. A Western release has not yet been revealed.
