The Escapists Available This Week on PC and Xbox One

February 10, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

The Prison Break simulator will be available on the PC and Xbox One platforms this week.

The Escapists from Team17 and Mouldy Toof has enjoyed a good period of development while available on Steam Early Access, selling a quarter of a million copies since it was made available late last year.  The sandbox prison escape game will be released this week on February 13 for both the PC and Xbox One.

For those not in the know, The Escapists is a strategy game of captive survival and daring schemes, in which players have the freedom to live the life of a prison inmate, while plotting to pull off a prison break.

Escaping isn’t easy—you’ll have to work around the prison schedule, avoid attention from guards, and craft weapons or tools found (or stolen) from within the prison. Players must look out for shakedowns, perform favors for other inmates, or get a job to purchase vital supplies, all while scouting escape routes.

You’re basically Wentworth Miller in Prison Break. What’s not to like about that?

Here’s what the full game offers:

·         6 unique prisons to escape – from the minimal security of Center Perks to the harsh confines of the Stalag Flucht POW camp.

·         6 different methods to bust your way out including digging out and prison takeovers!

·         10 prison jobs to earn you some vital escape funds.

·         Crafting system. Gather the necessary items you’ll need to craft items for your escape plan. Craft tools such as Cutters, Shovels, Sheet Ropes and weapons such as the Sock Mace, Comb Blade or Cup of Molten Chocolate!

·         Around 200 items to find including 50+ craftable items

The game will be available for $19.99 with a 10% launch discount available for Gold Members on Xbox One, and $17.99 with a 25% launch week discount on Steam.
