Ghost In The Shell Online Launching In US First, Aiming For Global Release

April 1, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Developer Neople says in an interview that making this game is a huge source of pride for them.

Remember the Ghost in the Shell Online game coming from Korean publisher Nexon? It turns out it’s getting released in the US first after all.

Nexon acquired the license to make games based on the Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex universe, and hired fellow Korean developer Neople to make the game. It was Neople’s general producer In Lee who revealed that 1st tests are taking place in South Korea, but only as a prelude to a global launch. Prior to this, observers assumed the game would go to Korea first, and then Japan.

Neople’s developers also spoke at length about the care they took in recreating SAC’s world. They go out of their way to call the project a source of pride.

Points Neople are paying special attention to include destruction physics, and the sounds of gunshots. Neople went all the way out to the Nevada desert to best capture those sounds.

Are you looking forward to this game, or are you still hoping to see more? Share your thoughts with us in the comments. In the meantime, you can see more of the WIP in the interview video these quotes were taken from below.
