Microsoft Files Trademark for Forzatech

April 7, 2015 by Stephen Daly

It’s unclear exactly what it’s for however.

A trademark for 'Forzatech' has appeared on the USTPO's website from Microsoft, though it's not immediately obvious what they intend to do with it.

The application for the trademark was made on April 2nd and is simply listed as "game software" with no additional description offered.

It seems likely that while the trademark has something to do with Microsoft's racing franchise but is likely a service or technology related to future games rather than the name of a title itself. Other Forza-related non-game trademarks owned by Microsoft include Forza Hub, the Xbox app which gathers information about the games, and Drivatar, an AI system used in recent Forza titles.

Forza Motorsport 6 is in development for Xbox One but it's currently unclear if Forzatech is related to the game.
