Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Reveal Coming April 26

April 9, 2015 by Stephen Daly

Game set in a ‘dark, twisted’ future and is the most ‘ambitious’ Call of Duty to date.

Activision has released a teaser trailer for the next Call of Duty, which all but confirms Black Ops 3.

The video, titled Back in Black, ends with the Roman numeral for three, while operative Alex Mason is referenced as well.

We'll likely see the game's single player at E3 and its multiplayer at gamescom. The game is the first developed on a three year schedule at Treyarch.

Black Ops was set during the Cold War while Black Ops 2 took place in the future. It's currently unknown when this title will be set.

The game is to be revealed on April 26th.

Update: Activision has revealed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be set in a "dark, twisted future" and be the "deepest and most ambitious Call of Duty ever".

The source code of Activision's Call of Duty website has revealed the first details about the game, confirming the return of popular co-op mode Zombies and the futuristic setting.

"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is the first title for next-gen hardware in the critically acclaimed Black Ops series," the game's website states. "Developed by Treyarch, the award-winning creator of the two most-played games in Call of Duty history. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 deploys players into a dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldier emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare.

"With three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies, it providing fans with the deepest and most ambitious Call of Duty ever."
