Batman Arkham Knight: Robin & Nightwing Story Ideas

May 12, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

These stories delve deep into these characters and will see them pulling off some amazing heroics worthy of the Caped Crusader himself.

Our old friend CabooseXBL has some ideas for stories to explore in Batman Arkham Knight DLC, for Robin and Nightwing. You can subscribe to him on Youtube here.

For Nightwing, it would be interesting to peer into Dick Grayson’s origins as Nightwing, including his falling out with Bruce. Batgirl could be included in this storyline as we know she was active when this played out.

For those who don’t know, there was no single event that precipitated the falling out. Instead, this was part of Grayson’s growing up, as he spent more time with the Teen Titans. He found that he was more warm and approachable than Bruce, which is why he was such a natural leader with the Titans. He also recalled his adventures in Kandor, discovering the Nightwing in that continuity and getting inspiration from it.

Another interesting story for Nightwing after Arkham Knight would be Knightfall. This is a multipronged storyline that would be difficult to cover here, but suffice to say that Grayson sees a lot of action in this storyline, if nearer to the end of it. There is a point where he suspects Azrael has killed Bruce and attempts revenge, and even a point later on where he is temporarily given the mantle by Bruce himself.

For Robin, AKA Tim Drake, an interesting source of potential inspiration would be Batman RIP. In the lead up to Batman’s supposed death (he was traveling through time), Drake investigated the supposed death of his girlfriend Spoiler, thwarted a gang war, and stopped one of his greater arch-nemeses, the General.

Batman Arkham Knight will be releasing on June 23 on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
