EA has announced that players who purchase the Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC Jaws of Hakkon on the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 will have access to that same DLC on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, respectively.
This service is free of charge (minus purchasing the DLC the first time around, of course), but will only work “within the same family of consoles.” This means that if you purchased Jaws of Hakkon on the Xbox 360, you will only have access to it on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It does not mention if this service is reverse compatible (purchasing it on current-gen consoles and having access on last-gen consoles).
It should also be noted that this service does not apply to the main Dragon Age: Inquisition game. A full copy of the game must be purchased on either console in order to play the game or Jaws of Hakkon on said console.
Jaws of Hakkon was released on PS4, PS3, and Xbox 360 on Tuesday, following two months of timed exclusivity on the PC and Xbox One. The duration of this exclusivity was kept under wraps, reportedly due to contractual obligations. Another piece of Dragon Age: Inquisiton was released earlier this month for free on all available platforms called Dragonsalyer.
