Final Fantasy XV’s Second Gamescom Trailer Reveals The Marlboro

August 7, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

This encounter proves to be fatally brief for Noctis and friends.

Hot off the heels of the Dawn trailer, Square Enix has released a new Final Fantasy XV trailer for Gamescom. This is the Marlboro trailer.

The Marlboro trailer is less vague and more down to earth than Dawn, but I would not say that makes it more satisfying. In fact, in some ways this trailer is an even more frustrating tease.

This very brief clip shows Noctis and friends delving deeper and deeper into the swamp to find their way into a Marlboro. It very quickly becomes apparent that the party is not ready to face off with the monster, and after some attacks of Marlboro’s legendary bad breath, this walkthrough of the game ends abruptly. Yes, this is the first trailer that shows Noctis and his friends die.

The trailer drives the simple point home that if you found Episode Duscae to be a little too easy, the rest of the game won’t be like that. Just because you have the freedom to explore does not mean you should.

Final Fantasy XV is being developed for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
