Just Cause 3’s Challenge Modes Revealed

August 20, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

While some fans think milling around the game is just fine, these challenges provide new ways to enjoy.

Avalanche previewed some new challenge modes for Just Cause 3, that they hope will increased the number of ways you enjoy navigating through the world

In Wingsuit Race, you pass through rings in the air while gliding in your wingsuit. It looks like Superman 64, but don’t worry. Of course, Avalanche has proven themselves adept at making different ways of travel fun, and using the wingsuit is no different in this regard. An interesting aspect of this mode is if you stick close to the bottom of the rings, you get a bonus, as long as you don’t break your combo. Avalanche hopes some fans will want to come back to this again and again until they master using the Wingsuit

Destruction Frenzy is a lot more freeform, and is activated after you take over a base. You get an unlimited ammo mortar, and access to helicopters across the base, and the name of the game is destroy everything. The challenge is time based, but to keep things strategic, the timer doesn’t actually start until the first thing you destroy has been fully razed to the ground. This all incentivizes you to plan out your approach.

As this previewer notes, however, generally milling around and looking for something to do remains incredibly fun. It’s up to the player to decide if he or she wants to try these challenges out, or just hang loose, or maybe even make their own challenges.

Just Cause 3 will be released on 2015 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.
