LittleBigPlanet Franchise Announces 6 Million Levels Created

January 16, 2012 by Lyle Smith

Big numbers for LittleBigPlanet

It has been announced that a combined total of 6 Million levels had been created by gamers for LittleBigPlanet and its sequels.

The announcement was made via a tweet by @LittleBigPlanet:

6 Million levels! A Year ago this week we launched LBP2, since then you guys have made 2.5m levels – you are amazing! <3

What percentage of the levels are actually playable and not just random obscene objects, we will never know. Still very impressive though!

The LittleBigPlanet franchise was launched back in 2008 for PlayStation 3 and was followed by a PlayStation Portable version of the same name in 2009, this time developed by SCE Cambridge Studio. The sequel to the first game, LittleBigPlanet 2, was released in January of 2011. There currently is a PlayStation Vita iteration in development by Tarsier Studios and Double Eleven, which is set for release in sometime in 2012.
