Stephen Toulouse Resigns as Xbox Live Policy and Enforcement Director

February 3, 2012 by Josh Harmon

Toulouse has announced that he’ll be stepping down from his post later this month to spend time with his family.

Stephen "StepTo" Toulouse, director of Xbox Live policy and enforcement, has announced that he'll be resigning his position on February 15.

Toulouse, known to millions of Xbox Live hackers as "that guy who wouldn't unban me," has spent nearly 18 as a Microsoft employee, beginning at the spry age of 21 back in 1994. He worked as head of communications for their Security Response Center before joining the Xbox Live Services division in 2007.

In a post on his personal blog, Toulouse explained that the split was amicable, and driven by "complex and personal" reasons. He has no future plans beyond taking a break to spend time with his family and friends.

Microsoft has told Joystiq that they currently have nothing to announce regarding Toulouse's replacement, but offered assurances that "the Xbox LIVE Enforcement Squad will continue their work to help ensure a safer and more secure experience on Xbox LIVE for our nearly 40 million members."
