Metal Gear Solid HD Vita has Unattractive Box Art

March 15, 2012 by Mat Growcott

"So, we’re going to have close up images of angry people. That sells, right?"

Perhaps it's just me, but I've never much appreciated these close-up face images of Raiden and Snake. We first saw similar to them as a teaser before the announcement of Peace Walker and Rising and since then they've popped up a couple of times. Thankfully, not on the box art for the original HD re-release.

Either way, they've made it onto the Vita version of the box art and, if their intention was to make Raiden look as much like Hayden Christensen from the last two Star Wars films as possible, they've been very successful. Personally, I think they both look a little too angry for their own good and I probably wouldn't pick it up if I saw it on the shelf and was looking for something to play.

Either way, I suppose if you're going to buy a HD collection of PS2 games, you must at least have a general knowledge of the titles, so perhaps being slightly angry on the front cover isn't too bad.
