Prank Turns Building Into Tetris Game

April 23, 2012 by Andrew Kent

Them youngins have made a working Tetris game playable on a building.

I had never heard of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology until today. It seems they have quite a lot of what are called "hackers" who place…interesting things across the campus at MIT. Recorded history of the hacks go all the way back to 1989 and include some of my favorite things like a replica T.A.R.D.I.S., a Dalek, and even a Harry Potter hack.

This time the guys and gals at MIT have outdone themselves this time. Hackers have turned a building, called the Green Building, into a functional Tetris game as you can see from the video above. It wasn't an automated process, students could actually sit with a controller and play the game on the building.

It's surprising that the university hasn't tried harder to stop these hacks seeing as how universities and colleges are run by grumpy old men. At one point they were according to the MIT hack website but judging from the number of hacks that have gone on in the past no one has tried (with great effort at least) to stop them since.
