There were bound to be some losses in the wake of Sega's recent huge financial loss and restructuring thereafter.
It seems the first casualty may be a Bayonetta sequel.
Spong has been told that a sequel starring a new character from the US military has been shelved for the exact reason we suspect.
While the direction would've almost certainly been questioned by fans, the theorized Bayonetta 2 has long been anticipated by fans of the original. (The game's creator, Hideki Kamiya is infamous for giving humorous responses to queries about the sequel on Twitter).
Hopefully as Sega recovers, plans can be resumed.
