HMV Advertise 3DS XL With Second Circle Pad, Google-Sourced Picture

A major mistake by the media retailer HMV might confuse quite a few people come the day of 3DS XL release.

Where to start? There's so many things wrong with this picture that it almost seems impossible to know exactly which one to pick at first, so we'll start with the most obvious. Although this is a genuine piece of marketing for the 3DS XL, on display in an actual HMV, the mock-up in the photo boasts a second circle pad, ideal for left-handed players don't you know.

Discovered by user Warerare at GoNintendo, the photo also seems to be based on the E3 2010 model of the original 3DS, not the 3DS XL, and was actually an April fools joke posted by MegaPirateNinjas.com. Hopefully somebody in the marketing department at HMV is being told not to Google search for their important resources.

And while it'd be easy to dismiss this as nothing more than an invention of the internet, Warerare took multiple pictures. Interestingly enough, the second one displays the correct information in the text, out and out saying "Sorry, it doesn't have a second circle pad, though."

Somebody screwed up folks.
