Woman Proposes to Boyfriend the Scott Pilgrim Way
By which we don't mean, er, she dumps him for a high school student or anything. Um.
I always thought Scott Pilgrim --the comics at least-- was a bitter commentary on post-adolescent immaturity and willing infantalism. Clearly it's just about cute woobie doodles and retro gaming nostalgia, though. My mistake!
Anyway, much as I might suggest this young lady is barking up the wrong tree with respect to her geeky pop cultural references, the actual execution of the proposal is pretty adorable. The bride-to-be gave her boyfriend, Dylan, a series of envelopes with Scott Pilgrim comic pages and had him lead the pair on a tour around Toronto, tracking down the real-life landmarks featured in the comic. When he got to Casa Loma (the site of the Lucas Lee film shoot in Book Two), his girlfriend proposed and Dylan earned the Achievement worth all the Gamerscore.
