February's Club Nintendo Rewards Include Mario Party 2, Art Academy By Molly Carroll
For the past couple of months, Club Nintendo has been offering up games in exchange for points—good ones, too, and for less points than it costs to earn you a Nintendogs greeting card set.
January’s games were Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask (150 points)—which is, no kidding, one of my absolute favorite video games of all time—and Dr. Mario Online Rx (100 points). Having only found out about the deals at the end of the month, I raced to snatch up both games before the offer was over.... More »
First English Dubbed The Last Story Character Trailer Released By Ian Miles Cheong
Mistwalker has put out a new trailer for their RPG for the Wii, The Last Story. The trailer introduces us to some of the game's main characters, which include Calista, the mercenaries Zael and Dragan, Syrenne, Yurick, Lowell, and Mirania.
The Last Story looks like a JRPG with some 'western' artistic sensibilities.
The Last Story is dated for release in 2012, exclusive to the Nintendo Wii. A European release has been confirmed, but there's no word on when—or even whether—the game... More »
Japanese Sales Figures: Vita Makes Gains, But Only Slightly By Josh Harmon
Hell may have just gotten a little icier, as the latest batch of Media Create sales figures bring some good news for Sony's struggling PlayStation Vita.
Not only were Japanese Vita sales up nearly 25% during the week of January 23-29, the system also managed to achieve two important milestones for the first time since launch: outselling the PSP, and having a game make the top 20. That game was Tales of Innocence R, which debuted in the number 3 slot behind fellow newcomers Armored Core V and Resident Evil... More »
Nintendo's Satoru Iwata Makes a Case for Budget Gaming By Ian Miles Cheong
Speaking at an investor conference, Nintendo chief Satoru Iwata made a case for less-than-HD games. He says that the company has plans to play on its own turf instead of competing in Microsoft and Sony's.
"As we will showcase the Wii U at E3 in June this year, the detailed announcements must wait until then, but we are aiming to make a system which shall not be forced into competing with the others where the contenders can fight only with massive developer resources and long development times as their... The Trailer for the Wind Waker game that doesn't Exist By Mat Growcott
The trailer above, animated by Joel Furtado, shows the sequel to the Gamecube exclusive Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, subtitled The Lost Oracle. There's a twist: this game doesn't exist. With excellent sound design, faithful recreation of series elements and an incredible attention to detail, many fans would be forgiven for thinking this was more than just a design demo.
Of course, Windwaker has already had a couple of sequels - DS games Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks - but the change in style as the game... More »

Wii U to Ship World-Wide This Holiday Season By Lyle Smith
Bloomberg Japan has reported that Nintendo will ship the Wii U during this coming holiday season in North America, Japan, Europe, and Australia, which is weird to say since the last one pretty much just ended. Nintendo’s President, SatoruIwata, will announce a more specific time frame during an earnings conference in Osaka today.
In addition, Iwata spoke about the 3DS, stating that Nintendo plans to continue releasing major titles for the system in hopes to return to profitability this upcoming fiscal... More »
Rumor: Next Xbox to be 20% More Powerful Than the Wii U By Lyle Smith
IGN recently posted a rumor regarding the specs of Microsoft’s next Xbox iteration. In it, there was a brief, yet interesting, statement comparing the Wii U to Microsoft's new console: IGN claims that it “will yield 20-percent greater performance than Nintendo’s forthcoming console, the Wii U.”
Though it's no surprise to me that the 'Xbox 720' is rumored to be more powerful than the Wii U, what did surprise me, however (and I think most other gamers as well), is that fact IGN... More »
Anonymous Ex-Employee Email to THQ Calls for High-level Sacking, Change By Mat Growcott
An anonymous email from an ex-employee, posted to Neogaf this morning, gives some indication as to why the non-execs feel the company might be going down hill. Despite PR claiming that everything at the Saints Row publisher is fine, the writer of this email retorts that things are far from rosy, with top level employees making mistake after mistake, getting no punishment and going on to spend more money, ultimately causing redundancies.
The letter, reproduced in full below, can't exactly be verified by the public... More »
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Game? From The Arkham City Devs? Maybe. By Elizabeth DeLoria
According to the rumor mill, Rocksteady’s next game won’t be a Batman one at all, but a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. That was unexpected.
According to Paul Gale Network, the game will be called 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Manhattan Crisis', with Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo as the playable characters. How awfully specific.
The rumor goes that all the turtles will have access to their own unique weapons, and will feature flashbacks that will allow the player to take the... More »
KiKi Trick, It's Pretty Weird. By Addison Langford
Kiki Trick is a bizarre kind of game for sure. In fact, I'm still not sure what it is about. From the videos that I have watched all I have been able to gather is that this is a really weird game with zero chance of being localized.
In one of the trailers we see the player guessing what sports sounds are in his martini, so I have decided this game must be some odd rhythm/sound analysis game. In another trailer that is way too long to watch the entire thing, we see three cute Japanese girls playing the game in a... More »
