The Ghosts of Future's War: A Look at Ghost Recon Future Soldier
By Seb Wuepper
The Ghost Recon series is a weird one. The original game, released in 2001, wasn’t based on any of Tom Clancy’s novels despite bearing his name. At the time, the gameplay mechanic was something of a novelty. Ghost Recon was basically something of an open-air version of Rainbow Six, the other big Tom Clancy shooter franchise—it was tactical, squad based and rather realistic. Despite solid sales, Ghost Recon wasn’t an overwhelming success. At the time, its biggest competition came in form of Bohemia... More »
Far Cry 3's Insane Edition is Utterly Mental By Ian Miles Cheong
Ubisoft has put out a special ad for the Far Cry 3 collector's edition, which it's calling the "Insane Edition". It may well be the definition of insanity.
It starts with a gagged dude tied to a chair who's just opening his eyes to gaze upon a bobblehead doll that's being presented by a rather manic terrorist who asks him if the bobblehead looks beautiful.
The Insane Edition includes the bobblehead doll, a sweet canvas package for the game, access to all DLCs and unlockable... More »
New Footage of Lost Planet 3 is a Giant Quicktime Event By Ian Miles Cheong
Capcom has just released new footage of Lost Planet 3, which is currently in development at Spark Unlimited.
The new footage shows off what appears to be an early battle with a giant enemy crab. The player takes to the mech to drill the crab's appendages off. A portion of the sequence was previously shown in the game's first video reveal.
Players take on the role of a rig pilot named Jim, who takes a contract and finds himself on the planet of E.D.N. III to obtain samples and prepare it for... More »
GameranxTV: Dragon's Dogma Demo Impressions By Jen Shaffer
GameranxTV takes a look at the Dragon's Dogma demo, currently available as a free download on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
Watch as Jen fights her way past a Chimera and Griffin while weighing in on whether to Demon's Souls/Skyrim comparisons have a basis. She also takes a brief look at the game's character editor.
It should be noted that the combat of Dragon's Dogma may be more in line with Devil May Cry than any other title it's been compared to.
Dragon's Dogma is out on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.... More »
New Information Concerning Ubisoft's "Next-Gen Online RPG Project" By Jacob Saylor
A new job ad posted on Ubisoft Massive’s website is in relation to their need for a PvP design specialist. While news hit the airwaves just last week that development on the unannounced MMORPG was hitting full-steam ahead, this just reinforces any validity behind such rumors.
However, the studio is also in the midst of hiring on staff for the multiplayer sections of both FarCry 3 and Assassin’s Creed III. While I – as well as many others – am almost certain that this job posting is probably for... More »
Square Enix Play Arts Kai Announces Batman Arkham Asylum Figure Set By Addison Langford
If there's one thing Square Enix still does well it's their Play Arts Kai figure line. They recently announced their latest figures and they're based off of the hit game, Batman: Arkham Asylum (yeah, not Arkham City). There have been four different figures announced however, we currently only have pictures for two of them.
Square has yet to announce an official release date but Amazon is currently listing them as releasing in August. The figures that have been announced are: Armored Batman (seen above and below), Harley... More »
GRTV: Minecraft 360 Edition Review
By Jen Shaffer
I'm sure everyone thought once the final build of Minecraft was released that we would stop hearing about it, and for awhile, the tempest seemed to die down. That is, until the most recent port was set loose on the 360. For console exclusive gamers who are experiencing minecraft for the first time, congrats. You've just acquired a new set of virtual legos.
So. A review on minecraft. That hasn't been done before right? Well, what can be said about minecraft that hasn't already been said? Nothing. So... More »

Watch the "Robots of War" in this Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Feature By Alex Co
If you ever wondered how drones and other robotics are tailored to warfare, then this video by our friends over at VICE magazine should answer those questions.
The video, which is the first pat of a three-part series, is titled "Robots of War," and ties up with Ubisoft's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. It explores the real side of modern warfare and while it might lack the standard gunfights and explosions one expects from trailers, it's nonetheless an intriguing look at how modern tech helps the... Max Payne 3 Glitches: Zombies, GTA Free Roam & More
By Ian Miles Cheong
Max Payne 3 Glitches
Max Payne 3 has been out for about a week now, and like every other Rockstar Games release, it is kind of buggy—and will be until they patch it up.
I'm sure we can all recall when Red Dead Redemption's John Marston had to use human birds as target practice and ride a donkey woman instead of a horse, or when the detective could run up buildings in L.A. Noire. Similar oddities happen in Max Payne 3.
We've put together a list of ten bizarre... More »
Minecraft Will Soon Get Trading and Currency Systems By Ian Miles Cheong
Jens Bergensten has been teasing new systems (via Twitter) of trading and currency which he has plans to implement into Minecraft at some point in the near future.
The system will allow players to trade with each other, and with NPC villagers, making the game more of an RPG than ever. Once the system is in place, players will be able to barter items and trade coins for equipment. The implementation will also provide villagers with a purpose besides milling around aimlessly.
In addition to the new... More »

GTA 5 Release Could be Narrowed Down Tomorrow By Ian Miles Cheong
Those of us who are paying close attention to Rockstar Games, Take Two, and the development of Grand Theft Auto V have good reason to keep our eyes and ears tuned to Take Two's conference call tomorrow.
The next fiscal year is about to begin, and with it, Take Two will announce its stock price forecasts for fiscal 2013, which has already begun. It ends in March 2013.
The fact of the matter is that if Take Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick forecasts a $2 (or greater) share price, then there's a good... More »
A Payne to End All Pains: Max Payne 3 Verdict — The Hype
By Seb Wuepper
In the early days of the 21st Century, people were in love with bullet time. That camera technique, popularized by The Matrix movies, turned into a mainstay of early 00s action movies. It wasn’t quite as hard to kill as the grainy look the action genre inherited from Black Hawk Down or other such fads that still endure today, but it proved to be a distinctive feature of a number of films none the less. Finnish made hyper-violent manshooter Max Payne was one of the first games picking up on this stylistic device, making it... More »
Borderlands 2: Revamped Inventory, Health Kits Drop in the Middle of Battle By Ian Miles Cheong
Despite the recent releases of Diablo III and Max Payne 3, we haven't been ignoring Borderlands 2, which promises to deliver as good an experience as the first game when it's released later this year.
Speaking on the PlayStation Blog, the game's producer Matt Charles says that Borderlands 2 will see an entirely revamped inventory system for a more "fluid combat experience". Players will no longer have to quench health kits like bottled water anymore.
“We decided to remove... More »
