There is reason to believe Star Wars Battlefront 3 will not be out until 2016.
This relates to the rumor mill around Star Wars 7. There have been rumors swirling around that the Battlefront game will have elements from the said upcoming movie. Unfortunately, that movie may itself be heading onto delay, thanks to concerns from Harrison Ford’s little accident in the Millenium Falcon. Star Wars 7 may be delayed until 2016. Subsequently, the game may not be coming out until that date as well.
Of course, we technically cannot say Battlefront 3 is getting delayed, because unlike the film, the game did not yet receive a release date. If this rumor is true, however, there is a bright side to it; whatever content is in the game that is in the movie, it must be central to the film’s plot or story, so much so that they are avoiding coming out with spoilers thanks to it.
And this is just as well, because as some older gamers and Star Wars fans may remember, Star Wars Episodes 2 and 3 were unwittingly spoiled by gamers, when the best of them finished the game early and released guides – with spoilers – onto the open web.
Our source argues that any delay would be OK, regardless of how long it has been since a last Battlefront. Game.
