We are down to the wire with new Smash Bros. combatants. Yesterday's blowout produced Lucina and Robin from Fire Emblem: Awakening as well as the return of Captain Falcon from F-Zero, and it seems that only a small handful remain. We should know the remaining roster via next month's issue of Japan's CoroCoro magazine.
NeoGAF user lolpho translated the announcement, which promises to unveil all the characters and stages in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS by August 12, ahead of the Japanese launch on September 13. Since the Wii U and 3DS versions share the same cast, that news will give us a better idea of what to expect when the home console build drops. However, the stages in both are different, so there are still some surprises in store.
In daily update news, director Masahiro Sakurai points out that Lucina plays almost identically to Marth:
I guess clones aren't entirely a thing of the past. We'll find out more before Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS arrives in the US on October 3, with the Wii U version sheduled for the winter.
