The Last of Us Proves Naughty Dog Can Do More than Uncharted

June 4, 2012 by Alex Co

Naughty Dog showed off The Last of Us and it might make you forget Nathan Drake.

Sony saved the best game for last as it revealed The Last of Us to end its E3 press conference. And I must say, it did not disappoint.

The trailer shows Joel and Ellie trying to get out of the city. But first, they need to get through the bad people who are standing in their way. While it's easy to see the game and think it's just Uncharted with a grittier feel, that doesn't seem to be the case. The combat looks to be more brutal and the gunplay itself seems to be harder.

Take a look at the trailer for yourself and see how far the game looks from Uncharted.

The enemies themselves react realistically to the way Joel attacks them. Granted, I'm not sure if they're scripted events or not, but if they aren't, then I suspect players will be in for a treat.

Sony has yet to give a firm release date for The Last of Us, but I'm still expecting (hoping) the game releases later this year for the PS3.
